SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT :

The project involves defining a draft of occupational standards, qualification standards and appropriate development and improvement of study programs, four of which are in the Department for Biotechnology, as well as a partial qualification standard and accreditation of lifelong learning programs linked to management in higher education at the University of Rijeka. The project’s added value is the fact that its integral part is the improvement of the entire accreditation / evaluation system in accordance with CQF at the University of Rijeka.

MAIN OBJECTIVE:

Improving the quality of education at the University of Rijeka through the development of standards of occupation, qualification standards and study programs and programs of lifelong learning based on learning outcomes and in accordance with the needs of the labor market.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

1. Creation of full qualification standards for “Biotechnology and Drug Development”, “Research and Development of Medicines”, “Biotechnology in Medicine” and “Medical Chemistry” and partial qualifications for the Lifelong Learning Program “Higher Education Management”
2. Amendments to the existing study programs “Biotechnology and Drug Development”, “Research and Development of Medicines”, “Biotechnology in Medicine” and “Medical Chemistry”, which will be structured in a set of appropriate learning outcomes presented in the ECTS credits
3. Developing Lifelong Learning Program “Higher Education Management” for the development of professional management skills in the heads of institutions and senior management of higher education institutions complying with the requirements of the Croatian Qualifications Framework,
4. Improvement of accreditation and evaluation system of Lifelong Learning programs and programs at the University of Rijeka in accordance with the Croatian Qualifications Framework,
5. Improving the conditions of studying and developing a student-oriented approach and improving competence of teachers and administrative staff at the University of Rijeka.

MAIN RESULTS OF THE PROJECT:

  • Improved accreditation and evaluation system of educational programs at the University of Rijeka
  • Proposals of 4 full and 1 partial qualification standards based on learning outcomes and harmonized with the CQF
  • 4 occupation standards have been developed
  • Upgraded 4 existing study programs of the Department of Biotechnology at the University of Rijeka
  • A draft of a new Lifelong Learning Program for Leadership and Strategic Management in Higher Education.
  • Upgraded competences for more than 50 members of the University’s administrative and teaching staff
